Tell me, they have onscreen chemistry? And sexual tension? Are these people saying they were platonic crazy?

THEY ARE SO TOTALLY FUCKING CRAZY ANON lol I can’t believe people are saying their scenes were platonic

that’s LUDICROUS. Their scenes were basically supercharged sexual versions of Darcy & Elizabeth from P&P.

There was CRAZY chemistry – the looks alone??? how they played off each other? It was SO overt? like she got up really close thim sometimes

and don’t get me STARTED onthe hands

like I never thought people touching fingertips or holding out each others’ hands could be sexual but THEY DID IT

Thanks for being so patient and yet so passionate in answering all these asks!!! So many people in Tumblr have answered their asks and you’re one of the very few who reply with such detail. Makes people like us who haven’t watched the film yet feel like we’re watching the actual scene. Bless your soul!

Thank you so much! Happy to be of service – in fairness to everyone, pretty much everywhere is bedtime right now (its 6AM here)! But I have the day off work and by god I’ve had two years with this fandom and I’ll give everything I can to help even if it’sjust answering asks!

Glad you’re enjoying them, hope it tides you over until you can see it!

I’ll probably have to go to sleep soon, but people should be waking up again soon so maybe the mantle can be passed until I wake up again lol

Did the movie hint at Kylo Ren’s redemption at all? Or is that a lost thought now?

I mean the whole movie was meant to show how complicated Kylo and redemption is – choices, influence, etc.

I think people will think it’s a lost cause in the sense that it becomes a vader-like thing where he dies at the end while being redeemed – because their point is how can you have a movie without a villain if there only exists Kylo, Hux, and the FO? Hux isn’t prominent enough. I get that argument, but I think it’s again more complicated (the real enemy is the FO ideals, etc. – which Kylo doesn’t give a FLYING FUCK about).

I think – even afte3r all the renperor stuff on Crait – that the movie COMES BACK AROUND AT THE VERY END TO REDEMPTION by reminding us that Rey and Kylo are still VERY much force bonded, and that Kylo let’s Rey go – just watches her imploringly as she closes the door on him.

I think he wants it, int he quiet places in his soul, but the struggle will be can he find it permanently?

not necessarily reylo but what exactly did luke do to ben and how does rey react to it????

Luke had been concerned about Kylo – seen flashes of the darkness, goes to him as he slept one night alone and read his mind – found it filled with darkness, etc.

So Luke moves to kill him, and Kylo wakes up and stops Luke’s downwards swing and then explodes the hut, temple, etc. and leaves him for dead.

Kylo is the one that told her what happened – the truth – and she calls him a liar – but not angrily, more doesn’t want to believe it – I think she trusts Kylo to tell her the truth tbh. She asks Luke and Luke says that’s true, but that he had already decided not to kill him but it was too late – said it was only oninstinct that he ignited the saber – but Kylo was already awake, etc.

Rey then has the thing with her and Kylo in the hut where she’s now convinced he can come back, etc.

Why did Kylo have Rey handcuffed and brought to Snoke when she arrived on the Supremacy?

I think Rey knew exactly what was going to happen, and knew that to get to that future with Ben Solo, she had to go to him – and in turn go to Snoke.

I think Kylo did that because he was still Snoke’s creature, and Snoke wanted her. That’s pretty much it. And he had seen that she would be by his side, so he just assumed that was in darkness with Snoke, etc.

I have a question… didLuke and Leia really leave Ben down? Does any of them believe there is still hope and why don’t they try to help him? Do they hate him? I am kinda feeling sorry for Ben, it seems only Rey feels him as redeemable. Thanks. :)

Leia says that her son is gone, accepts it. Luke says no one’s every truly gone – gives her han’s dice – but the subtext is that he’s saying it to console Leia that Ben Solo is still around (even if only in memory). I think Leia has accepted it and won’t try to get her son back directly the way she did in TFA, she has bigger issues now – officially.

Luke said that HE couldn’t be the one to bring Kylo back, that he wasn’t there to forgive Kylo and bring him back. But didn’t say he cOULDN’T be brought back. Yoda, though, DID say that while Luke failed Kylo – he could still save Rey, so make of that what you will. Yoda wasn’t always really big on redemption tbh.

They certainly do NOT hate him, it was more just accepting that…okay, well, Kylo has made his choice and it’s not aligned with mine so…so be it.

I don’t feel sorry for Kylo mainly because he killed Snoke and his influence, and then instead of accepting Rey’s offer for help he immediately steps into the supreme leader role and tries to get HER to join HIM. It’s totally misguided, but ultimately that was his choice. So I sympathize and want him to maKE BETTER CHOICES GOD DAMMIT KYLO, but I don’t feel BAD for him. Luke, Leia, and Rey all gave him a chance to come back.

I think for Kylo it’s just more complicated than that, and we’ll see that in Ep 9. And Rey I think realizes that too now – that she can’t just call him Ben Solo repeatedly, talk about his conflict and how she KNOWS there’s light for him, and expect him to do a total 180 in one movie/interaction. But it WAS enough for him to choose HER over SNOKE, so that’s the first big step and I’m excited.

I think Rey is probably the only one who will actively play any role in Kylo being redeemed or finding his way back.

Alot of people are saying that theres alot of romantic subtext for Poe and Rey instead ???? Where did they get that from? Is it true? *bites fingernails*

LOL literally their scene was “Hi, I’m Poe Dameron.”

“nice to meet you, I’m Rey.”

He laughs a little then says “I know.”

And that’s LITERALLY it. So if you take damerey from that, then…okay, but ‘a lot’ and ‘romantic subtext’ are factually inaccurate.
