I think so many people (myself included) were expecting Kylo at the very least to be separated from the FO. Maybe rogue, maybe captured by the Resistance, etc. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if Hux actually instigates a mutiny if Kylo is unstable. Whcih he probably will be. Rey’s rejection likely cut him very deep.

I think the FO is going to be split or deeply divided, and it’ll be led by Hux probably. Kylo is just not emotionally ready for leadership – he does’t even care about the cause rea`lly, just hates it cause it’s what his mom/dad gave him up for in his eyes – they cared more about it than him.

I could have seen those things happen and I would’ve loved it, but ultimately I think we’;re in a REALLY good place. We don’t want Kylo being forced to make a good decision, we want him to make it willingly with open eyes and a clear wish for what he wants. He just doesn’t know what he wants – the only thing he knew was that Rey was going to be by his side.

He just got the timing wrong for it.

All I wanted was Kylo saying her name and we got all this?! I feel kind of spoiled. 😂

Seriously! It’s why I can’t believe the rumors that some reylos are upset, lol I’m like..

WHAT DID YOU EXPECT IF IT WASN’T THIS?

We all made jokes that all we rea`lly wanted was for them to like..make eye contafct and maybe have a conversation and we got EYE FUCKING X100, FORCE BOND, REY CALLING HIM BEN REPEATEDLY, KYLO LETTING HER GO, THEM FIGHTING THE GUARD TOGETHER, HIM KILLING SNOKE FOR HER, SHARED VISIONS/DESTINIES, AND RENPEROR

What does phy-kylo-gy mean by “2nd rejection”? what happens does Kylo or Rey betray the other? I don’t understand, and I don’t know if I’ll be able to see the movie. (it’s alright if you’d rather not say because spoilers. I completely understand if so)

I’m pretty sure they’re saying the first rejection was his offering to be her teacher, show her the ways of the force (and in response she sliced his face).

And then 2nd rejection is after the throne room when he offers her his hand to rule by his side and she responds by taking the lightsaber and then they force-battle over it, eventually breaking it.

From what I’m reading, the scene at the end of TLJ is reminding me of one part in Beauty and the Beast where the Beast let’s Belle go. Can you say if that scene is kind of similar to that??

Hmm, I would say it’s similar yes – but not like he had her in his grasp and let her go. She was still loading the Falcon at the back of the compound he was in, he cOULD have ordered them to stop her, but he was too shattered by the force bond scene and her look – as he was holding Han’s dice.

I think he didn’t have the heart to go after them after all that. After ALL his talk of letting the past time, destroying it all to become what he needed, he realized that’s complete folly and is now directionless again.

It’s really a shame that despite all the awesome we got in this movie, people are still upset/depressed because of that ending. “oh no, Kylo is the big bad for the next movie, that must mean he’s gonna die!” But, like, I don’t see this going the same way as Vader. This is super early, but what do you hope/speculate might happen in the next movie with Kylo and Reylo?

I totally understand the fears, but I think it’s just too early to get consumed by it. ALL of the reasons for Kylo NOT dying in ep 9 are still 100% true and prevalent, so I don;t hold that fear too much.

I think we should enjoy the movie right now, meta for the next 15 months, and then go crazy over the marketing campaign like we did for TLJ =)

Once we start meta-ing, yall know the reylo fandom’s fears will come down and all will be right with the world, lol.

Me personally, I’m envisioning that ep 9 is about the first order being BROUGHT to the cause of peace somehow, maybe not the whole time, but I think the VILLAIN truly is the FO mindset now, not Kylo. Kylo is going to have more of an emotional crisis now that he’s in charge, the stormtroopers are gonna have it, and Hux will be a whiny bitch baby that Kylo kills. =)

And I think that there will be a time jump of a year or two, during which Reylo is constantly plagued/visited by force bond scenes, which messes them both up because tHEY’RE ENEMIES BUT LIKE???

So yeah I think we’ll get more of that and that will lead Kylo to making a GOOD DECISION FOR ONCE WTF KYLO.

How does Rey turn Kylo down? Is there a moment when it seems like she might take his hand? Does something else happen to break the moment (like an explosion)? Do they show Kylo react to her rejection of him? Thanks so much for answering these questions, btw!

Oh man, so it happens after the throne room fighting, there’s a lot of build up as she raises her hand, close ups, etc. but ultimately she then calls Anakins lightsaber to her from his side and tries to ignite it I think?

And at that point the truly epic part of the scene happens – Kylo and Rey are locked in the force, both trying to pull the saber to each other – to the point where they push each other away and float a little.

Then some stuff happens elsewhere, and the power they’re using grows and grows, until a BURST of light explodes between them and the saber splits in half, exposing the kyber crystal.

They’re both blown away from each other, Kylo is knocked out, and the next time we see Rey she’s on the Falcon somehow and Kylo is waking up to Hux standing there wondering wtf happened and kylo says that Rey killed Snoke (BIG, HUGE THING)
