Also, people don’t walk away from the pain, anger, and trauma they’ve experienced (and inflicted towards others) overnight. Kylo killing Snoke wasn’t going to magically turn him back into innocent Ben Solo. Kylo Ren and Ben Solo are one and the same, the bad and the good and in-between. Now that Snoke is gone and Kylo is left on his own without Rey by his side, I can see him gradually realizing all of his mistakes in IX and THEN finally redeeming himself. It’s more realistic, imo, and I like it.

This is such an important point. I was talking to my friend (who I’ve been watching the movie with – twice thus far) about it, but…

The Last Jedi technically only spans 20 hours MAX. Yes, time is a little different – Rey spent maybe 3 days on Ahch-To, but ultimately that’s it.

Kylo JUST killed Han, and bonded so fast with Rey – and killed Snoke as well. It’s unreasonable to ask him to do a total 180 so fast. The boy has to catch up to his feelings. Right now the only thing he’s certain of is that he likes/loves Rey and thinks they’re destined.

Kylo Ren is all out of excuses now – Luke, Han, Snoke are all gone and dead. The only thing he has left of his past is Leia, whom he never talks about. He’s standing on his own now – no master but himself. He’ll finally have to stop blaming the past for his emotional choices and actually move on as he says Rey should lol -Kylo stop kidding yourself, you talk a big game but SERIOUSLY.

I think he’s going to grow a LOT now that he’s independent and I can’t wait.

I cant believe how much stuff the reylos guessed right! I mean Rian has to be secretly loving reylo as much as we do!

It really just goes to show you that everything we saw in TFA was as deliberate as we thought with regards to Reylo. Rian saw it in JJ’s script and as TFA was being filmed shaped it into his own script.

THAT’S how I know we weren’t wrong and aren’t wrong. Because the clues and meta that we spent so much time on…were telling us right, it wasn’t just ‘crazy fangirl’ stuff.

It was real, not a stretch.

I’m a super pessimistic Reylo shipper and yet I was blown away by TLJ! It could’ve been A LOT worse for Reylo; I don’t understand why some shippers are panicking. Kylo was never going to go good in Act 2, nor was he ever going to join the Resistance or run away with Rey like he’s suddenly moved past all of his serious issues. As for the ~discourse, who cares what the antis and fanboys say? They were wrong after TFA, they were wrong about TLJ, and they’ll be wrong once Episode IX comes out.

I don’t want to make people feel bad for being concerned, but really this was everything we could have hoped for and much more. The vibes are good, yall.

And yes, ignore all the antis and haters yall! I have an inbox filled with them that I’m not going to respond to – they don’t get to rain on our happy parade! =)

I went to see TLJ just now, and all I want to say is that never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that Kylo showing up to Rey half naked through the force bond and her telling him to put a shirt on would be canon…. and here we fucking are??? :P

AND HIM IGNORING HER LIKE HE DOESN’T EVEN CARE LIKE LOOK AT ME REY, FEAST YOUR EYES UPON ME.

waas basically the interrogation scene unmasking again where he lets her oogle him for a bit lol

i keep thinking that reylos as good as dead but that would render so much of this film obstolete??? everything theyve built between kylo and rey just to deflate it at the end to “yeah we’re right back to the beginning of the movie”— it doesn’t make sense, is what I think I’m trying to get at. We can’t have lost a whole movie’s worth of development,,, but maybe its wishful thinking

I completely understand the worry, but you have to look at it as a whole arc –

TFA – the meeting

TLJ – the bonding and challenge

Episode 9 – the resolution

They bonded for like 80% of the movie, and then at the end he made a bad choice and Rey is disappointed and goes with the Resistance – the challenge.

The resolution is act 3 and that’s what we have to look forward to.

Yall, they’re romantic. It’s an enemies to lovers trope, pride and prejudice, etc. – this movie was the romantic groundwork to carry us through to the payoff.

Elizabeth ‘hated’ Darcy until the very end and rejected him when he was been an ass multiple times.

did you notice how much they focused on kylo’s saber in the fight scene with “luke”? my mistake, i didn’t really notice it during the scene in the throne room because it simply didn’t catch my attention apart from the moment where rey summons it. in the fight scene with “luke”, however, you can see how unstable it is. that’s a good metaphor for kylo’s mental state atm, he’s not fully in the dark side, he’s lost now more than ever.

Kylo’s lightsaber is and has always been a HUGE metaphor for him as a person. It is unstable, wild, unusual, and all of that. All of those things are also Kylo x1000. So any time the emphasize it, it’s because they’re showing you how wild and emotionally reckless he is.

I sincerely do not think Kylo has ever been ‘dark’ and he’s not now, but he makes some terrible choices and that puts him on the bad side right now. But because of Rey, he no longer feels…hopeless? Which just exacerbates the issue.
