Did Luke ask Rey to kill Kylo?

Absolutely not. Not even hinted at it. She told Luke she had to go to him – she had a vision – and he tried to stop her, “This is not going to go the way you think.”

But never ever did he say or imply that she had to take care of him or kill him.

I remember some time ago we (reylo fam) were discussing whether we want Kylo to be called Kylo or Ben by Rey/in overall and just RIAN JOHNSON ANSWERED THIS BY MAKING REY CALL HIM BEN AND TBH I AM HANDS DOWN FOR BEN AND BEN ONLY.

I mentioned this a bit on twitter, but I was never really a fan of the fandom split where some people use Ben for good/redeemed and Kylo for bad corrupted version. I really didn’t like it – and I still don’t, BUT-

I think what Rey did was really powerful – if a bit naive to think that’s all it would take – because Kylo didn’t act upset whenever she called him that, was attentive and stared at her. It was like that name wasn’t tainted when she called him that.

I want him to be called Kylo because that’s who he is now – bad and good mixed in. But now, I wouldn’t be mad if they went with the ‘redeemed Kylo is called Ben’ move.

But I think forever – that Rey will be the only person he lets call him Ben again. And that makes me really emotional.

I’m not hugely invested in Star Wars or Reylo, but I wanted to say I’m super happy for Reylo shippers anyway! I know what it’s like to ship something w/ all your heart & have to deal w/ miserable haters abusing you for it. Y’all deserve all the Reylo goodness you got in TLJ & more! Happy shipping!

Don’t ever believe the antis. They’re the ones who harassed us for two years about how Rey was a skywalker, and we made all this reylo connection shit up.

They don’t know how to watch a movie at all when it runs even a little counter to what they expected.

After tlj do you think we will get happy ending for reylo ep9. I am afraid even if we get the redemption for kylo, he can die at the end of ep 9. Thinking rian will make a new trilogy without skywalkers.. can they do that and end skywalker line.. just thinking the possibility makes my blood freeze. They can’t build all of these just kill kylo right.. I need hope

They’re not gonna Vader it. It would be too on the nose. Rian Johnson even has said that ‘we have to give the lost ones representation too’ – on how important Kylo is as a character. So I dont think that hope is going to be given as a ‘you can only come back from this bad shit if you sacrifice yourself like Vader’.

Rian’s trilogy is already said to be totally new, separate from skywalker saga. That doesn’t mean that the Skywalker saga is going to end and I don’t think they’ll do that. I think they’ll expand and lessen their importance as time goes on, but never get rid of them in canon.

So yes, happy ending for Reylo is in the stars.

Does Rey really ask for someone to show her her place in all this? Like the trailer? And at what part?

You know, I’ve watched it twice and I can’t remember. I feel like…yes? But if it was in there, it was a Luke scene.

Although I have a suspicion it was a force bond scene that we didn’t see, because I feel like I would’ve remembered her saying that – and the lighting was VERY similar to the hut lighting with that other force bond scene.

Why are people going on about Rey and Poe? I don’t get it.

IDK man, but shippers have fun with it. But there’s nothing different about their interactions vs others. They spoke one line to each other in two movies.

When they fight the guards do they like protect each other?

Yes. They fight at each others’ backs, and help each other out – and Kylo monitors her efforts while he’s FIGHTING THREE AT ONCE.

Why no one is talking about the way Kylo Ren dropped his cape à la Anakin/Obi-Wan (i don’t remember if Luke does it in ROTJ?) before his fight against Luke ? It reminded me of the prequel and I even more loved it !

AHAH! I was thinking about that before I watched it again tonight. That boy is dramatic in so many ways and I cackled at that. He was like ITS GO TIME LUKE, WATCH ME DO THE THING.

TBH I’m like 90% sure that;s why he has a cape in this one. Just for that moment.
