Hi! Have you read the poem “Longing” by Matthew Arnold? Sounds like something Kylo would’ve written … the first four lines go like this: “Come to me in my dreams and then / By day, I shall be well again! / For then the night will more than pay / The hopeless longing of the day.”

I’ve never read it, no!  But it’s now on my inspiration notebook for writing, because WOW it is very Kylo. Our boy is an angst bucket who would totally write Rey letters. He’s a big softy for Rey and I think even if comes back ‘redeemed’ he’ll be a snarly tooth to everyone but her.

It’s so fitting for the end of the movie when he’s kneeling alone, surrounded by darkness with a ray of light around him. He longs for her, knows he messed up, and hopes for her to visit him again =) Thanks for sharing, this is…excellent.

Come to me in my dreams, and then
By day I shall be well again!
For so the night will more than pay
The hopeless longing of the day.

Come, as thou cam’st a thousand times,
A messenger from radiant climes,
And smile on thy new world, and be
As kind to others as to me!

Or, as thou never cam’st in sooth,
Come now, and let me dream it truth,
And part my hair, and kiss my brow,
And say, My love why sufferest thou?

Come to me in my dreams, and then
By day I shall be well again!
For so the night will more than pay
The hopeless longing of the day.

Hi! I’ve never seen Girls but I see a lot of hate for it. I really want to watch more of Adam’s stuff but I guess Girls isn’t good…?

I mean it did have a long run on HBO (like 6 seasons I think?) so it was apparently at least good enough for them. However, it’s not a show that was particularly appealing to me (and I’m the target audience – mid-late 20s female) so I never watched.

It also has the unfortunate association of being created and written by Lena Dunham, who also stars in it and whom I absolutely cannot stand. I won’t go into it as I don’t want to stir up drama, but let’s just say I’m not a fan.

I’m happy it was as successful as it was, for the jobs it brought a lot of people – cast and crew, and the light it shed on Adam’s skills, but ultimately I can’t watch it for a lot of reasons and the allure of watching more of Adam’s acting can’t overcome them.

However as I said, lots of people seemed to enjoy it for various reasons, so if you read up on the synopsis and you’re interested then I would give it a go! As I said, it did last awhile =)

If you’re looking for more Adam stuff, I would recommend any movie he’s made over that show. Everything he’s been in has been a great movie with a great performance by him in particular.

I’ve heard that Adam plays a real douchebag in Girls? I’m terrified of watching it haha

I haven’t watched the show, but from what I understand is he’s kind of a jerk yes – however most people agree that his performance is the highlight of an otherwise unbearable show.

Take that as you will! I think a lot of his scenes are on YouTube so you could always check those out if you’re interested a little. I stay far away for multiple reasons, but that’s a personal thing!

I recently joined twitter and I wanted to follow some kylo and reylo stan accounts. Is there anyone you would recommend to follow??

Aside from MEEEE (lol) I would start by just browsing through my followed accounts https://twitter.com/reylosource – I don’t follow a ton, but the ones I do are all quality =)

I don’t follow a ton of accounts both on twitter and tumblr, because I like my timeline to be familiar – but I follow the #reylo tag on both so I can see all the good stuff as I want to. So I’ll RT and engage with a lot of random stuff, because I just like seeing people engage with Reylo on twitter (hence my bio).

Hi! Are we 100% sure this is kylo she sees in the mirror? I mean, I ve seen the movie 3 times and everytimes it is more obvious; and the explaination you gave to the anon about this totally made sense. But still, I am curious, is it written or confirmed somewhere?

We can only speak to ‘confirmation’ with this by looking at the concept art and reading what they’ve talked about in that scene, the last two I reblogged go into it:

http://reylosource.tumblr.com/post/168836058336/this-really-is-kylo-ren-spoilers

http://reylosource.tumblr.com/post/168835967766/cartoonjessie-from-the-art-of-the-last-jedi

Essentially, the original scene was going to show her face split with Kylo’s, and that scene was very heavy on the Rey/Kylo parallels in the force (conceptually). And then you have comparison with the screencaps where it’s clearly a man walking up to the screen, and the broad-shouldered Ben Solo come to mind – it makes complete sense.

So you’ll probably never get confirmation officially, but it’s speculation rooted in evidence from the supplementary materials as well as narrative influence.

There are some quotes from Rian where he talked about the purpose of the scene, but I couldn’t find them – he said similar things though, that it wasn’t really about her parents, but about her search for identity and place in the universe.

Hope that helps!

Do you know why on Twitter they use the #ReyloTH hashtag? Is it a campaign for Reylo? Apparently the users of Thailand use it.

No I have no idea! But I imagine it’s similar to stuff other groups use, just a way to narrow the tracking – like on tumblr, the general tags vs specific tags (edits, fanmixes). Since the movie, the Reylo hashtag on twitter has been delightfully active, however I imagine if you wanted to identify others with perhaps a common language, that might be the best way to do it.

So it’s likely it’s just their way of identifying and tracking stuff from within their subgroup! Neat, I hadn’t noticed before. =)

Hello! I read a theory that Rey and Kylo are indeed twins but got separated because Leia had a dream prophecy that one of her kids would bring the destruction to the Galaxy. That all the force bonds are like the ones Luke and Leia had. That the reason that Rey knew how to pilot the Falcon was because she is his daughter. And that’s why it’s Kylo she sees in the mirror cave. Honestly I hope this is not true. I love Reylo and I think that a romantic drama makes much more sense. What do you think?

Kylo is 10 years older than Rey canonically, so they’re not twins. He’s 29, she’s 19 – almost 20.

The reason Rey knew how to pilot anything much less the Falcon was because she scrapped together and fixed a flight simulator in her AT-AT and learned how to fly using that. You learn about it in one of the books (I think several mention it).

She sees Kylo in the mirror cave because the cave is showing where to find her answer – her identity is not something it will show her, because she already knows it (who her parents are). But she sees Kylo because he’s her future, not her past. And within him lay some of her answers – because he’s the one who will stand by her side in the future, and also the one who gets her to admit and come to terms with the fact that she’s from nothing, but that doesn’t have to define who she is.

Sooooooo yeah =)

hi! I saw your star wars movie/book guide and had liked the post for future ref (which, I guess is now lol), and I was looking up the books you’ve listed and I’m curious; Aftermath, judging by google and such, is a trilogy or something? Did you mean all of the books or just the one named ‘Aftermath’? Also, for someone who wants to be fully in depth with the canon/new canon universe, would the ‘Journey to (movie)’ books be advised as well? And also SWBF2: Inferno Squad? (sorry for long ask haha♥)

Oh goodness, thanks for pointing that out! Yes you’re right, they are a trilogy – aftermath then life debt and then empire’s end all cover post-ROTJ and pre-TFA stuff!

I would recommend them all mainly because they provide great lead up to the galactic issues that never really ended after ROTJ and it helps explain (along with Bloodline) what’s going on with the FO and the galactic politics in TFA/TLJ.

Plus you get to ‘see’ the Battle of Jakku happen! =)

The Inferno Squad campaign in Battlefront 2 is AWESOME and absolutely if you want to get more of the small hints here and there, and just see something from an ‘Imperial’ perspective then I would recommend it. The gameplay is great too, if that’s your thing.

The ‘Journey to” stuff is actually kind of a long campaign that LF has for each movie, so it’s basically a program of all books that are related to each movie, to give you more depth.

For instance, with TLJ they released the ‘Leia, Princess of Alderaan’ book which is set with a teenage Leia before the events of A New Hope, but most importantly introduces you to her longtime friend Vice Admiral Holdo. So for those of us who had read the book her appearance was a real gift.

They also had stuff like the Phasma book (which was fine but not particularly interesting in terms of the movie since Phasma is so brief), and Canto Bight which is kind of a collection of stories about it.

There’s also a VERY appropriately timed book ‘Legends of Luke Skywalker’ which honestly was a good primer for how Luke saw himself and how he fit into the galaxy in TLJ – disillusioned, but this kind of shows you why Rey would know him and speak of him as a myth. Really interesting.

So yeah absolutely if you wanted to follow the LF ‘Journey to’ programming then I would totally recommend it! The brief guide I gave were just the ones that I found would be most interesting/relevant to that users’ question without basically outlining everything written in the new canon LOL

Hope you enjoy digging in to them, I think most of the books and supplementary materials have been really well done!

What do u think about Knights of Ren? How many knights that Ben has? Are they a huge army? What might be their appearances? Men in black with capes? I can’t wait to meet Ben’s army! I believe they will have a great place in next movie. I’m sure there will be strike between Hux and Kylo that will divide FO apart. Ren Knights will be on Kylo’s side and they will fight against the rest of the FO. Maybe Rey will also join them :)

We know JJ liked the Knights of Ren (obviously, he created them), but I just don’t know if he’d pull them back in for the 3rd movie.

I’ve always headcanon’d (as most of the fandom) that the KoR were the fallen Jedi apprentices – TLJ seems to support that, as Luke mentions that Ben left ‘with a handful of students’. And we know that essentially they did errands for Kylo/Snoke – across the galaxy, gathering Jedi relics, maybe killing force users, etc. to eradicate them.

However we haven’t seen them outside of the forceback shot of Rey’s in TFA, there were maybe 5-6 of them and they didn’t really have lightsabers, they had all sorts of odd weapons.

It’s possible that the Praetorian Guards ended up being the KoR/Jedi students, who knows.

What I do know is that it is unlikely we see them in the film – I sense that we might get some explanation and backstory in a novel or comics perhaps – maybe even a TV show.

I think it’s far more likely that we’ll see a FO army that Kylo is struggling to maintain control of, and Hux possibly being a little rogue with them – striking places without permission, etc. which leads into a big conflict in the end.

So I don’t think it’s likely that we see KOR in the movies, or Rey joining them. I think it’s pretty clear that Rey is going to move the Jedi forward – but take them back to their roots. Which, as pointed out, are far more rooted in balance than we’ve seen them previously.
