can u tell us what happened to luke pls

under the cut cause I know that some people even who are looking at spoilers wouldn’t want to be spoiled on this:

Luke becomes a force ghost, similar to Obi-Wan disappearing in his robes like in ANH. He projects himself to Crait to give them time to escape, distracting Kylo and TFA, and then when it’s done – he becomes one with the Force and a shot is shown of him on Ahch-To disappearing, leaving only robes behind.

So…

The reylo was incredible. It was literally everything I could have ever hoped for in the 2nd movie.

There was the insane sexual tension in EVERY SCENE – seriously, there were some overt ones, but certainly look to pride and prejudice for that kind of UST between darcy/elizabeth and you have kylo and rey.

Rey calling him Ben over and over again and him not responding or telling her no was just…the embodiment of this fandom with the kylo vs ben debate.

Listen, reylo is gonna be big in ep 9 – like we got everything we wanted from this movie, and ep 9 is gonna bring it all home. Bet.

I think – very early speculation – that Rey is gonna (despite shutting off Kylo at the end) be the ONLY one who can bring him back. She’s not gonna be trying the way she did in TLJ though, but they’re FORCE BONDED for 100% real and that’s not going away. It’s going to be a constant between the two.

Kylo isn’t going to die, I think hes going to bring the FO over to the ‘good’ side, sort of. The issue with Ep 9 is that right now there’s just kylo as the ‘bad’ guy other than Hux/FO. So unles you have a total wipeout of the skywalker line, and a repeat of vader, then you’re gonna get creative with kylo.

I greatly appreciate your haters gonna hate tag. Although the abuse was pretty tough to deal with in the beginning, it’s actually pretty fun to stroll down memory lane now 😜but that’s probably because I’m feeling a little too over-confident at the moment

Hah! Thank you – yeah, it was and is pretty bad, but I thought going through it from the beginning gives a lot of perspective and humor all in all.

I think we’re all drunk on Reylo at this point, over-confident or not, and TLJ is D A Y S away which is just insane, so we’re all loopy =)

I can’t remember what your thoughts were on Rey’s Forceback from TFA, but mine are that she saw an event from the past, and Kylo saw her. I don’t think he was protecting her, he just took an advantage of an opponent that had his back turned. It wasn’t until then that he saw Rey, wondering who was this girl that suddenly appeared. When he stepped forward, she disappeared. And that’s why he’s obsessed with her. Thoughts?

Heya, I haven’t talked about the forceback in a long time, so that’s understandable! My general thoughts were/are:

  • It was a mixture of both the past and the present
  • I think she and Kylo were having the same vision, maybe not exact, but certainly when they’re in the same place – he’s actively in the vision as well, I headcanon he was having it while on the ship to Takodana
  • The guy he killed in the vision was clearly attacking someone on the ground with the raised club that Kylo grabbed, so I tend to think he was defending her – now when it was, I don’t know.
  • I think when he sees her and takes a step forward, that’s when he realizes that she’s active in his vision as well – then walks towards her, then the forest part – hence it being slightly different (and masked still)
  • I honestly think Kylo’s obsessed with her because he sees himself in her, sees her conflict, knows she’s important, etc. – and I think he’s been aware and seeing visions of a girl for years, hence why Mitaka said ‘girl’ he flipped out

It’s long been a headcanon of mine that Kylo has visions frequently (similar a bit to Anakin), and that when Rey awakened she began to have the same (triggered by the Lightsaber) – and that’s its not outside the realm of possibility for them to now be amplified and shared now that she’s ‘awakened’.

Hi, I’m the “three younger brothers” anon from a while ago. I’m a little ticked off with them. Whenever I mention Rey, they’ll scoff at it (especially the 19 year old. he can’t stand her, or Kylo for that matter). Star Wars is the end-all of all nerdy things to them. They are connoisseurs of the old EU, they have 2 huge totes of toys, Legos, costumes, etc. I’m not sure if they think Rey is a Mary Sue. I know they never thought much about Padme’. They make me feel like a fake big-time SW fan.

HI anon! Whew I’m really sorry this sat in here for so long, once I spiraled and then went into hiding, I was scared of the inbox. But I braved it to answer some of these.

I’m sorry your brothers are making you feel like their kind of SW fan is the only kind of fan. It’s not true – you don’t have to have all the merch, or an encyclopedic knowledge of Legends. Those things are all just for show, to show others how much you love Star Wars.

But really, being a fan of Star Wars is pretty simple – like the theme, the lore, the universe, the characters (even some of them?) – you’re a fan! And let me tell you, just the fact that you’re following star wars news/blogs (of any kind, even THE DIRTY SHIPPER KIND 😉 means you like it a lot.

For bizarre, man-culture reasons, it has become the in-thing to not like Rey and think Kylo is a wimp. It’s really bizarre to me, but not surprising. I’m not one to spout off about sexism, but that’s really (imo) what it is – maybe they don’t realize it, it’s definitely subtle, but the fact of the matter is:

Rey in TFA had an almost exact same story/etc. as Luke did in ANH, but because she’s a woman, they subconsciously held her to higher standards (lol wtf she can fly? wtf she can just suddenly fight with a lightsaber – ignoring that they showed her fighting skills with the staff before this – wtf she can just MIND TRICK ALREADY?) – all things that Luke did similarly easily in ANH. But because she’s a woman, again the higher standards (and they’ll say a lot of it is because they didn’t want TFA to be a copy of ANH – and it wasn’t, she’s her own character, but if you boil everything you don’t like down to the above, then they themselves have proven they don’t care about it and thus that’s an invalid argument).

Kylo showed weakness by having compassion, emotional outbursts, and losing fights (~and these are dirty women things and totally not like Vader at all no – of course they disregard the fact that Anakin was very much like that before the turn. In fact, they ignore that Darth Vader was even Anakin to begin with TBH).

Anyway, I went on a rant I’m sorry – and this isn’t to say that your brothers are being deliberately mean or exclusive with you – but just an effort to make you feel better.

You’re not a fake big-time fan, your love for SW is just as real as theirs, but for maybe very different reasons. And that’s okay.
