i gotta say i feel like the people shipping poe/rey at this point after their one exchange in this film (which was to me just to resistance fighters with a friend in common and a lot of respect for each other) have got to be delusional anti reylo because tlj gave us romantic reylo, there may not have been kissing or a confession of love but the two of them are definitely bonding and developing romantic feeling for each other

Gotta agree a little, I mean ship whatever you want based on whatever you want, but IMO thinking that poe/rey will be canon because of it is a little much for my tastes (BUT WHATEVER I TOTALLY GET THE APPEAL).

I think there will DEFINITELY be a contingent of antis who will be pushing certain things – damerey for instance – similar to how they pushed finnrey. Because it’s ANTI-reylo. That doesn’t mean people don’t legitimately ship them, but that they’re probably the anti’s ship of choice.

There is NO denying that Rey and Kylo have feelings of a romantic nature for each other. They did everything you could to show it to people except outright kiss.

if anything, kylo turning back into the dark side reminds me a resemblance to Zuko’s redemption journey in the crystal caves during the season 2 finale! it’s still possible, it just will take a longer route! i mean, it’s gonna be in THREE movies

It’s definitely just a misstep – now he’s fully in control of his destiny and choices for THE FIRST TIME IN THIRTY YEARS. So of course he would do something stupid. He’ll get smarter.

I can’t talk to specifics with the Zuko stuff because I don’t watch, but I’ll just sAY YES TOTALLY –

sometimes redemption is long and PAINFUL.

So, with Ben/Kylo as the final Skywalker descendant and George Lucas advocating for the Skywalker line to continue, at this point do you think it’s safe to say Rey and Ben are going to have to meet in the middle by the end of the trilogy? I honestly don’t see him getting together with anyone but Rey, when all is said and done. Boy is smitten. One more question; do you think there was more going on behind the scenes with the Force bond scenes? As in him coming to her at night?

George Lucas was advocating for it? OR are you talking about how he wanted the saga to focus on the family drama MORE (from reports onwhy he disagreed with LucasFilm very early onabout it).

I think regardless of all that, they’re going to meet in the middle – Rey is going to read the TRUE origin of the Jedi, realize that they were both wrong on sides, and convince him that he can be both light and dark – and happy, with her.

I think there were WAY more Force Bond things that happened that we didn’t see – you don’t go from shirtless ‘let the past die’ to scared and quivering (both of them) in a hut talking about your deep dark fears without there being a LOT more to it.

Force bonds grow and become more intertwined – I think that in Ep 9 with the time jump you’ll see that there’s more influence from them,, it happens a lot, etc. and I think they’ll start to be able to do it at will.

I finally saw it. Finally. In IMAX 3D. And it was beautiful. And I told my husband that I would l leave him for Adam Driver. 😂 Almost everyone walked out of there declaring redemption arc and shipping Reylo and I was in heaven. It was glorious. Just wanted to share. ❤️

HRRRRRRRRRNG, I haven’t seen it in 3D yet just Dolby (which is like..AMC’s IMAX) and it is incredible. 

And ofc, I think we’d all leave our SOs for Adam…that broody and intense and quirky man with glistening chest and puffy lips, lol.

Yes! I think the fact that so many are talking about it and Reylo means that Rian did his job with the general audience. Bless that man.

Mark Hamill confirmed, as he put it, the “romantic tension” between Rey and Kylo. He also referred to him as his naughty nephew and said he still thinks of him as Ben, which is beautifully bittersweet now that we know what we know.

He likes calling Ben the naughty nephew, but OMGGGG I can’t believe he just straight out said romantic tension (UST UST UST) – I love that man.

And yeah I think it’s sweet that he thinks of him as Ben, so does Rey – Rey would very much be part of the fandom that thinks of them as split personalities – Ben as good and Kylo as bad, lol.

New fan here! To be very honest, I didn’t like at all the idea of Reylo after TFA and now I realized the tumblr mentality has a lot to do with it. I was never an anti, never sent hateful anons because I think this is gross, but I was not a fan either. Around two weeks ago, I had a dream that Reylo would be canon in TLJ and was surprisingly ok with it? So I started searching for some videos and watched one from a channel called Wayward Jedi. It was an epiphany to be honest. +++

+++ I felt like a curtain of smoke had been lifted from my eyes. It was so enlightening and freeing and I felt like I would have shipped them before If tumblr weren’t holding me back. Their story has so much potential and I was completely blind. I watched TJL yesterday at the midnight screening and I am happier than ever. Looking forward to all the new meta and theories!

I remember the freshness of certainty that Reylo was going to be something I adored – it has consumed me and bEWITCHED MY BODY AND SOUL.

It’s just interesting that two people can watch a movie and get radically different things from it – that’s what happened with TFA and Reylo. I wish people would have not harassed about it, but yeah…

Anyway! Yes there is HUGE HUGE HUGE potential and Rian delivered on a LOT of it. Don’t worry, the metas will come…

In the meantime, read the old ones in my FAQ cause they’re doozies and you’ll be knocked on your ass in a good way lol
