Do you have the quote where jj abrams says that star wars is an optimistic world and he wants to steer star wars especially the romance in a different direction. He also says that star wars is a fairy tale in the same interview.

Hey there! The fairy tale stuff from JJ was all from the director’s commentary on TFA. Transcription copied from this gifset.

We looked at it like […] a fairy tale. What are the elements that you’re going to see that makes it this genre, this specific genre? […] You’re probably going to have a castle, and a prince and a princess, if you’re looking at a fairy tale. We wanted to give these fundamental, not cosmetic, but prerequisite elements.

— J.J. Abrams, The Force Awakens director commentary

And then the optimistic world stuff was from a podcast from THR, documented in an article here.

“To me, the important thing was not, ‘What are the bones of this thing?’ To me, it was meeting new characters who discover themselves that they are in a universe that is spiritual, that is optimistic and in a world where you meet people that will become your family.”

And then he also talks about romance in a French interview before TFA, detailed here.

Quizzed about the possibility of on-screen romance, he said: ”No doubt, even if I already know I want to approach this project in a different way … We’re only in the initial stages [of making the film] and it’s difficult to talk about it other than to say it’s very exciting.”

Maybe there was some other interview where he talked about all of them at once, but those are the instances I remember vividly!

Hey! Own those 1300 words/that scene you just wrote. You did it and I’m very proud of you. *hug* Keep up the good work, but remember also to be gentle with yourself and your writing. You’re doing a wonderful job. <3 –thewinterreylo

THANK YOU =) I appreciate it, and lord knows I needed it. Celebrate the successes, don’t dwell on the failures – and don’t turn successes into failures like me!

Now if I could just say that every day and live in, we’d all be alright! But for tonight, I’m with you. I wrote 1300 words! I am proud =D

Would you ever write a reylo “The Longest ride” AU? With reylo as the main couple and Anidala as the older couple (idk if you’ve seen the movie but it’s the first thing that came to mind 😅)

I’ll have to watch it but by the way it sounds..YES THAT SOUNDS AMAZING FOR REYLO/ANIDALA. I’ve never written for Anidala (not like super into it in terms of fandom) but I would do so much for my OTP Reylo..this would be a gorgeous story!

Do you mind me asking how ‘R’ BlackKklansman is? I don’t usually go to R movies, but I’d be willing to make an exception for Adam. I’m okay with what the subject matter is; I’ve watched Mississippi Burning and A Time to Kill, among others. I like to watch movies on history. Argo was rated R, but the majority of that was because of language. I just don’t like excessive blood or stuff like that.

Absolutely I do not mind! The R rating is most definitely only for language, there isn’t any blood at all or like graphic violence, etc. so I think if you were ok with the movies you mentioned, you’d be fine for this one!

I will say that it left me with an urge to watch A Time To Kill again (love that movie so I need little encouragement), but that movie was very intense/serious whereas BlackkKlansman was very humorous in light of the subject matter (intentionally).

So just as long as you’re prepared for the terrible language and subject matter, you’ll be good!

Small note under here, it’s not a ‘spoiler’ since it’s not technically in the movie but some might see it as such so just being careful:

At the very end before credits roll, there are clips of the protests from Charlottesville in 2017, including the car that rammed into the crowd and killed a girl. I don’t remember there being like blood shown, but I thought it fair to warn about!

Will it be possible to have a post that collects all reylo bits from tlj novelisations?

Hey! Kind of – I’d rather not post full cuts of all the book scenes just out of respect for the author, but I’ll absolutely do a list of all the bits and notations I have for them specifically. I’m noting them as I read. =)

However I’m 100% positive someone will put all the bits into a post a la TFA novelization, I’d just rather not do it yet out of respect. I understand not everyone can own a copy, but I’d rather wait until perhaps everyone has had a chance to at least get one from a library or a friend before I plaster it all =D
