Hey! Own those 1300 words/that scene you just wrote. You did it and I’m very proud of you. *hug* Keep up the good work, but remember also to be gentle with yourself and your writing. You’re doing a wonderful job. <3 –thewinterreylo

THANK YOU =) I appreciate it, and lord knows I needed it. Celebrate the successes, don’t dwell on the failures – and don’t turn successes into failures like me!

Now if I could just say that every day and live in, we’d all be alright! But for tonight, I’m with you. I wrote 1300 words! I am proud =D

it’s so frustrating to sit here with nothing to do and nothing to read up on (really), nothing to watch, and knowing you should probably write some more on one of your WIPs and then…

you just keep tabbing around aimlessly instead of, you know, writing.

I apparently guilted myself into writing with this, yessss. Only 1300 words but STILL.

Ok, but has anyone noticed how he shakes his head in the last gif as Rey comes closer?

OML this boy will be the death of me FCK

That little barely noticeable headshake kills me too. When Rey was a safe distance away from Snoke Ben didn’t have nearly as many walls up. He consistently talked to her over force skype and even comforted her in the hut. Yet, the second she arrived on the ship, he refused to say a word and there is an important reason why. He looked at her, spoke to the stormtroopers and walked away. In the novelization it hints at him slightly smirking when he looks at her, but we didnt get that in the movie. Then after guiding her into the elevator when they were alone and she took a step forward and spoke he panicked and shoke his head while clearly checking her out. It was his silent attempt to make her realize that Snoke was here and that it wasnt safe to talk. The man needed to get his mask on soon (without actually wearing one) so he needed to shut her out. It’s why he didn’t kiss her in the elevator. It’s why he barely spoke and when he did it was almost in riddles. He couldn’t let Snoke know that his loyalties had changed. He knew he couldn’t let Snoke hurt Rey, but he didn’t have a plan. He needed to formulate one on the spot, like any true child of Han Solo and Leia Organa would, and he needed to keep Rey at a safe distance for that.

Reblogging for the commentary.

I thought he was checking her out but this makes sense. It might be a little of both.

So true^^

I REALLY like this take @fabradicalfem! I think there’s definitely something there, that he was all too aware of the surveillance on the ship to show his hand, and that’s why he’s so disarmed when she talks to him and starts moving.

ALSO it really ties in the ‘I know who your parents are’ line, because to me it always felt really – random? Like not quite tied to anything they had been discussing, there are arguments that say how it could be tied (he was trying to build solidarity with her being abandoned and thats why she was going to stand with him, etc.) but – there’s this point now too that makes sense as well:

she was close. WAY too close. too intimate. and if he knows her like we think he does, he also knows how to shut her down – and he throws out that line and she immediately takes a step back RIGHT as they arrive at the throne room with snoke. Imagine how it would have looked if she was nearly pressed against him begging him when the door opened? It was well timed.

I LOVe this interpretation and am going to mull on it a little more.
