apparently Billie Lourd read the script for IX and she said it’s gonna be magical 👀

pacificwanderer:

Apparently, that is true according to ET! Glad to hear it. She’s a wonderful actress and I’m so happy that she’s able to continue her mom’s legacy in the series (and I like Connix too).

The late actress will make her last appearance as Leia in the upcoming film via unused footage from Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and as her daughter, Billie Lourd, describes, it will be “magical.”

“I gotta watch myself because the Star Wars PD is going to come get me, but it is incredible,” Lourd, who plays Lieutenant Connix in the latest Star Wars trilogy, tells ET. “I’ve read the script and I’ve been on set. I was on set for, like, three weeks back in September, and it is going to be magical.”

“I can’t say much more, but I’m so excited about it and so grateful to be a part of it,” she adds. “Star Wars is my heart. I love it.”

Can’t wait to see her in action, though it’s very interesting that she was filming back in September. Wonder what that means for the rest of the Resistance team?

Cheers, Nonnie!

hello i was wondering if you wanted to participate on the house sorting discourse for ben? i admire your writing and your characterization is so on point that i feel like whatever you say is the law praise the Force

The Hogwarts house discourse doesn’t matter because Leia “the way I braid my hair has significance” Organa of the Royal House of Alderaan, a planet known for its elegant paintings and fine wines and extra af aesthetic, would send her soft, calligraphy-loving son to Beauxbatons and y’all know it

Thank you!

He looks the same to me. He’s a little sallow, so perhaps different lighting reflects different tones. I’m pale and sallow as well, I notice I look tan in certain lighting and ghastly pale in others lol.

yeah, my first thought was that he was just flushed from the interview/lights and being around people. but I’m willing to entertain the thought of it being a strategic light tan for kylo on the run!

after all, tis the season for wild speculation and it’s fun to lean into it sometimes for me XD

Adam looks like he has a bit of a tan in some of those event photos, which is interesting because he certainly didn’t leave here with one. 🤔

I thought the same thing^ His skin tone looks warmer. Could be the lighting…They have been doing some filming outdoors. OR this could be intentional😉

So, funfact– Lucy Lawless is naturally fair-skinned, and to play Xena, she had to use a special tanning bar of soap to get as dark as she was in the show. If I am recalling it at all correctly, I think it took around two weeks for the color to wear off? It’s literally been at LEAST ten years since I saw the fan club tape it was on, but two weeks feels right. If they’re shooting Ben having gone AWOL, out in the wilds of space and planets, maybe they’d want to tan him up with something like that soap, which gives a nice even tone like Adam seems to have now, to better present the situation? And if they wanted the tan to wear off before shooting the next bit, this could be why he’s literally getting the next two or so weeks off to be back in the US because they won’t be able to do anything with him until it fades.

Basically I am intrigued by the slight tan. I don’t think it’s the lighting- he’s usually pale enough that the light doesn’t react that way with him. Other ladies in the photos are pale and they’re under the same light he is and look pale, not tan. And again, he definitely didn’t leave tan before taking off for the UK, so it’s something that’s happened in star wars world for sure. This is very, very interesting….

you’re putting thoughts in my head this is interesting, interesting, interesting…

Ok, but has anyone noticed how he shakes his head in the last gif as Rey comes closer?

OML this boy will be the death of me FCK

That little barely noticeable headshake kills me too. When Rey was a safe distance away from Snoke Ben didn’t have nearly as many walls up. He consistently talked to her over force skype and even comforted her in the hut. Yet, the second she arrived on the ship, he refused to say a word and there is an important reason why. He looked at her, spoke to the stormtroopers and walked away. In the novelization it hints at him slightly smirking when he looks at her, but we didnt get that in the movie. Then after guiding her into the elevator when they were alone and she took a step forward and spoke he panicked and shoke his head while clearly checking her out. It was his silent attempt to make her realize that Snoke was here and that it wasnt safe to talk. The man needed to get his mask on soon (without actually wearing one) so he needed to shut her out. It’s why he didn’t kiss her in the elevator. It’s why he barely spoke and when he did it was almost in riddles. He couldn’t let Snoke know that his loyalties had changed. He knew he couldn’t let Snoke hurt Rey, but he didn’t have a plan. He needed to formulate one on the spot, like any true child of Han Solo and Leia Organa would, and he needed to keep Rey at a safe distance for that.

This^^^

Reblogging for the commentary.

I thought he was checking her out but this makes sense. It might be a little of both.

So true^^

I REALLY like this take @fabradicalfem! I think there’s definitely something there, that he was all too aware of the surveillance on the ship to show his hand, and that’s why he’s so disarmed when she talks to him and starts moving.

ALSO it really ties in the ‘I know who your parents are’ line, because to me it always felt really – random? Like not quite tied to anything they had been discussing, there are arguments that say how it could be tied (he was trying to build solidarity with her being abandoned and thats why she was going to stand with him, etc.) but – there’s this point now too that makes sense as well:

she was close. WAY too close. too intimate. and if he knows her like we think he does, he also knows how to shut her down – and he throws out that line and she immediately takes a step back RIGHT as they arrive at the throne room with snoke. Imagine how it would have looked if she was nearly pressed against him begging him when the door opened? It was well timed.

I LOVe this interpretation and am going to mull on it a little more.

adam wasn’t super buff in tfa either, and he looks about that built, so maybe he just built some muscle for the shirtless scene and when training for the throne room battle stunts. he still looks fit, not skinny or anything, but his hair is still a bit shorter so kylo’s appearance is prob going to reflect those changes in ix.

these-are-the-first-steps:

I like this. I would also venture to say he’s perhaps a bit less than even TFA though? I think he’s just…not reached kylo imposing yet.

See? I think this kind of conversation is interesting. Thank you, anon!

I’m definitely of the opinion that any training he has to do will be for any fight scenes, and those will come at the end of filming if I had to guess. Even John just now (I would wager) starting training for whatever he’s doing – so I imagine that any training or bulk up Adam needs to do for Kylo will happening during the filming schedule, for end scenes.

BUT I’m not against the thought that it’s intentional – that we’ll see a diminished Kylo in the beginning of the movie, because homeboy sure did look rough at the end of TLJ.

I would love to see it be because he’s been condemned by the First Order and is its prisoner or something..for killing Snoke. Or something. Whatever, I’m just here for the rIDDEE.

Can we talk about the new official picture of Kylo for a moment?

image

( source: @sleemo )

We all agree it’s from the hand touching scene, BUT who is he looking at?

First I thought it’s when Luke interrupted them, but I realized it couldn’t be:

• his facial expressiom says it otherwise

• it’s from a different position

( he’s turing away from the door in the new pics)

So either this is a behind a scene moment or an official promotion pics of the scene OR it could be a missing scene!

Answer us Lucasfilm! How many footages and pictures are you holding back???!!!!@@

Holy shit where is this from???

He’s soooooo gorgeous!!! ❤️

Guys it’s impossible that it’s from TLJ @hope-lives-in-the-galaxy @frozenmusings he doesn’t have the scar!

I don’t know about you, but I see a scar just fine. It’s that thin line right over his eyebrow.
Also if it was from TFA, he’d look different. From his hair, to his collar.

It might be from another side of the force bond, since we see them all from Rey’s angle, perhaps this was from Kylo’s? Anyway, very cool we get to see something new =D

Can you explain your theory about P*e more?

disparatepeace:

hope-lives-in-the-galaxy:

benperor-ren:

So, one of the first things I immediately thought of leaving the theater after seeing TLJ was “Rey and Poe are not going to get along.” Their personalities are very different and with that bond hanging over Rey’s head and P//e being hot headed about the FO it just spells bad news for Rey. Just look at the P//e comic…Rey seems a bit done.

Finn would be upset that Rey kept the bond a secret but would eventually get over it. P//e? Not so much. I know people like to say he learned his lesson in TLJ but his “burn the First Order down” quote says otherwise. When (not if) P//e finds out about that bond the shit will hit the fan. He’s going to either use Rey as bait or kick her out of the Resistance. I really do think they kept him alive, not because of his popularity (remember TFA hadn’t been released), but because they needed a parallel to Hux.

Now, I’m not saying he’s evil. But this trilogy isn’t doing black and white storytelling. Stormtroopers are kidnapped children. Kylo is a brainwashed abuse victim. Rey has some dark side in her. There was a Jedi in the Vader comics who thought it was okay to sacrifice billions for the greater good. People get so caught up in doing the right thing and being a hero that other people who don’t 100% conform to their ideals get hurt along the way.

P//e is going to be so hellbent on killing Kylo that Rey might suffer for it, and that alone will be enough to turn her off from the Resistance.

P//e is going down in a blaze of glory. He’s going to do something heroic, like kill Hux and die doing it, because the writers won’t want him to become too much of an asshole.

It’s ok if people disagree with me on this. I’ve heard plenty of “Disney won’t go there.” But I just won’t be surprised if this ends up happening.

THIS.

I definitely agree that P//e is a Resistance extremist. And while there are parallels with him and Hux ( both extremists who are driven for their cause) I think understanding his intentions would better explain his actions. Such as why he’s so loyal and driven for his cause.

We know that Hux’s actions are actually out of a self-serving desire to gain more power and to crush anyone who opposes him, but what about Poe? What motivates him? I guess you can say it’s his desire to be a hero or have some leadership/recognition for his actions. Then there’s just him viewing the First Order as an evil corruptive force that needs to be destroyed.

Maybe his desire to destroy the First Order outweighs his desire to be the hero. (Which would explain the incident with losing a lot of the fleet in the bombings)
