Adam delves into Rey’s relationship to Kylo in The Last Jedi and how she tests Kylo’s commitment to the First Order. “She upsets the balance that he has in his mind.”
Life just comes along where you’re not expecting, and whatever you think that you’re committed to is being tested. And often that’s always kind of more exciting because it could either, you know, make you just that more committed to what you were doing in the first place or completely derail your train of thought. And I think that’s kind of what she does. She upsets the balance that he has in his mind.
– Adam Driver talking about the impact Rey has on Kylo
👀
I love how all of what he said sounds like he’s promoting a romantic drama.
the soundtrack to Adam Driver’s childhood was a classical piano piece
(#HEADCANON FOR BEN SOLO #IMAGINE BEN ADORING CLASSICAL MUSIC BC IT CALMS HIM DOWN AND HELPS HIM RESIST THE DARKNESS #AND HES SO EMBARRASSED TO SHOW IT TO HIS PARENTS ESPECIALLY HAN BC IT IS
KINDA
PRETENTIOUS AND WEIRD #BUT THEY FIND OUT AND REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO HIM #AND EVENTUALLY THEY BRING HIM MORE PIECES FOR HIM TO LISTEN TO #AND STAY WITH HIM EVERY NIGHT LISTENING TO IT UNTIL HE FALLS ASLEEP)
Rachmaninoff is fucking badass though. Like if you’re not allowed to listen to metal, Rachmaninoff is a good alternative.
This kinda confirms that he grew up in a religious home and that makes me kinda sad…. “Secular music” Just… Ugh….
he is actually able to play Rachmaninoff on piano too.
Q: So I was watching Revenge of the Sith recently and I noticed there are a few echoes from that film to The Last Jedi, like when Anakin’s talking to Padme in Revenge of the Sith just before they face off Obi-Wan, there’s some similarities there with the “join me” and the lashing out of Kylo to Rey and Anakin to Padme. Did you watch the prequels while you were writing? (x)
