(I couldn’t help it)

She sits with an elbow jabbed into an armrest, fingers cradling her forehead as she sits with a book in her lap. She looks annoyed–bored even on his throne.
It’s perfect.
She belongs there, he thinks to himself as he strides purposefully towards what is his official seat of power. Not that he cares for it. It’s a necessary evil, a tool for creating the change he wants.
Like it or not, he needs it.
Like her. He needs her, but like both instances, she doesn’t seem to need either.
So she sits on his throne, rejects all its power and gravitas and symbolism and circumstance as she swings her legs over the sides and slouches uncouthly in his seat as she flips a page.
She’d probably make a horrible empress. He’s not sure how it would turn out–if she’d be a evil despot or capricious child-queen. She has no clue how to rule an empire…
So what does it say about him that he would raze entire planets and burn the galaxy to put her there? To give her what she has no interest in and to withhold the rest?
