I don’t know about you, but I see a scar just fine. It’s that thin line right over his eyebrow. Also if it was from TFA, he’d look different. From his hair, to his collar.
It might be from another side of the force bond, since we see them all from Rey’s angle, perhaps this was from Kylo’s? Anyway, very cool we get to see something new =D
I love how quickly he still reacts to his birth name being called. And when she says it, it shows how intimate and deep their relationship is. A true balance.
And now we go to this scene, where we actually get a very different side of Kylo Ren. Where we see how unlike Vader he is. How tempestuous he is. How uncontrolled he is. […] We were really throwing sparks his way. I think the moment I actually just fell in love with Adam Driver was in his timing of this line. “Anything else?” This is the moment of course where Kylo Ren learns about Rey. And now, these two disparate pieces come together. — J.J. Abrams’ commentary on Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
“The center of this story is Rey and Kylo Ren. They stand on the opposite sides but the boundary in between is thin. There are light and dark inside both of them. They are not far apart. They are the other side of each other.” —Adam Driver
